Economic Development

The Economic Development office is organized to focus on building the long term economic base of job retention, expansion of existing business, and the best use of the community's present under utilized economic resources. The goal of the office is to help expand local businesses and attractions and bring new businesses to town that would allow our residents to be able to buy anything locally if they so desire.

This office coordinates new business recruitment and works to maintain a strong relationship between the city and our business community. One of the ways we help the city's current employers and businesses is by seeking out grant opportunities and by creating more awareness of other funding possibilities.

Aside from grant writing, the department utilizes other useful economic development tools such as Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Intermediary Relending Program, Revolving Fund, Business District Fund and the Hotel/Motel tax.

The City is proud that organizations and citizens are working to make Pinckneyville a better place for opportunity. We have the vision to keep Pinckneyville a thriving community and with the help of the Economic Development office and our community organizations, those goals will be met.
